My dear parishioners and visitors;
“Who do people say that I am” (Mk. 8: 27) and “who do you say that I am” (Mk. 8: 29).
Jesus asked his disciples these two questions long times ago. Now He personally is asking you and me the same questions. We see, in today’s gospel reading, Mk. 8: 27-35, St. Peter’s perfect profession of faith: “you are the Christ”. Today St. Peter is inviting you and me firmly and joyfully professing our faith in Jesus Christ, who is our Lord and Saviour. St. Peter gave a correct answer and made a perfect profession of faith. However we know that he often failed to act on it. We do need God’s grace, not only to profess our faith, but more important to act on it and to live it. “So faith by itself, if has no works, is dead”, St. James teaches us. (James 2:17). We pray for one another that we all not only are trusting completely in God, but also more important living out courageously that trust and faith in our daily lives.
Have a blessed week.
