My dear parishioners and visitors:
We begin of our liturgical year with the 1st Sunday of Advent. Advent is always a special time to recall and to prepare for the 1st coming of Jesus in Bethlehem and also to look forward to his 2nd coming at the end of time. It is so important for all of us, during these 4 weeks of Advent, to make every effort “to abound in love for one another, to grow in holiness, to be blameless before God and to live our lives in such a way that is pleasing to God” (2nd Reading: 1 Thess. 3.12-4.2). I would like to invite all of you and through you everyone in Quesnel, our great community, to prepare ourselves well for this 2015 Christmas and come to celebrate the Birth of Christ, our Lord and Savior, with St. Ann’s, our parish family. Our Christmas’ Masses this year will be at 5.00p.m & 9.00p.m. on Thursday, Dec. 24th, Christmas Eve; and at 10.a.m. on Friday, Christmas Day.
Our Holy Father, Pope Francis, decided to have an Extraordinary Jubilee. This is the Jubilee Year of Mercy and will begin on Dec. 8th 2015 on the Solemnity of the Immaculate Conception of Mary and will conclude on Nov. 20th 2016 on the Feast of Christ the King. He said in his homily that “We want to live in the light of the word of the Lord: Be merciful, even as your Father is merciful”. (Lk. 6:36) and “I confident that the whole Church, which is in such need of mercy, for we are sinners, will be able to find in this Jubilee the joy of discovering and rendering fruitful God’s Mercy, with which we are called to give comfort to every man and woman of our times”. Have a good week and a blessed Advent season.
