February 6-7 2016

My dear parishioners and visitors:

We will begin our Lenten season this year on Feb. 10th, Ash Wednesday, with two masses at 9.00 a.m. & 7.00 p.m. There will be the Stations of the Cross every Friday evening beginning on Feb. 12th to March 18th, starting with Lenten soup in the center at 6.15 p.m., then a reflection on the parable of the prodigal son (Lk. 15:11-31) at 6.45 p.m., and the Stations of the Cross at 7.00 p.m. Lent is a very special time for us to be one with Jesus Christ Our Lord, in His passion, death and resurrection. I would like to invite all of you to come out for all Lenten devotions and practices, especially to receive the sacrament of confession on Friday March 18th at 7.00 p.m.

The sacristy’s renovation is going well. The bell tower is now firmly supported by a 19’ 6” metal beam, hidden in the ceiling, running across from the North side to the South Side (the Sanctuary). The plumbing and the plywood floor are installed. The next stage is to work on framing, wiring and installing gyprock on the ceiling and the wall. Please make a donation for this renovation, “our labour of love’s project”, through Faith in Action. Your donation is much appreciated and needed.

The people in Viet Nam, China and other places around the world will celebrate the New Year, the Year of Monkey, on Feb. 8th. My mother and I sincerely say to you “Chuc Mung Nam Moi” and wish you a blessed New Year and a happy holiday: B.C. Family Day.

Thank you and God bless.

Fr. Peter Hoan Nguyen.
