June 4-5 2016

My dear parishioners and visitors:

The month of June is dedicated to the Sacred Heart of Jesus.

The heart, in every culture and in every age, is commonly regarded as the natural symbol of love and affection. The term “Sacred Heart of Jesus” denotes the infinite love of Jesus, the Son of God, for the whole humanity. “There is in the Sacred Heart the symbol and express image of the infinite love of Jesus Christ which moves us to love in return” (Pope Leo XIII). The devotion to the Sacred Heart of Jesus is the devotion to Jesus Himself, the Word Incarnate. The Church approves this popular devotion with many documents by Pope Clement XIII, Pius IX, Leo XIII, Pius XI, Pius XII, Paul VI, and St. John Paul II.

We are asked and encouraged to consecrate ourselves to the Sacred Heart of Jesus by acknowledging Him as Lord and Savior, by repenting and resolving to love and to serve Him. We make reparation for the indifference and ingratitude with which He is treated, offended and abandoned by the world.

I would like to say a very special thank you to all of you for your kindness, best wishes and love, especially on my 25th anniversary. O Sacred Heart of Jesus, Have mercy on us and bless us.

Fr. Peter Hoan Nguyen.

P.S.: I will be at Cache Creek for a retreat, Monday 6th – Saturday, June 11th.
