June 27-28 2015

June 26th 2015.My dear parishioners and visitors, A warm greeting from Queen of Apostles, (www.qoa.ca), Mississauga, Ont. I am now at Queen of Apostle for the Canadian Pontifical Missions Society Meeting. (www.missionsocieties.ca). There are 27 representatives: clergy, religious sisters, permanent deacons and laypeople, coming from different English speaking dioceses across Canada. We come together to discuss about the mission-works being done in Canada and to see how The Society for the Propagation of the Faith, Society of St. Peter the Apostles and the Holy Childhood Association are being promoted in each diocese. It is also a times for everyone to look for new effective and excited ways of living, sharing our faith and of proclaiming Jesus’ Good News to the whole world as He commanded us “go, therefore, and make disciples of all nations” (Mt. 28:19, Mk. 16:15). The speakers for this year are Fr. Andre Gagnon S.J., Brother Rene Mailloux, FMS, from Quebec and two priests: one is from Congo and the other is from Cameroon.

Speaking about our own personal commitment and responsibility for the Evangelization, we see in this Sunday’s Gospel (Mk. 5:21-43): Jesus makes two miracles to bring life to a daughter of a Synagogue’s leader and to heal of a sick woman. Jesus, through these miracles, gives us a powerful sign of his own resurrection, the resurrection of the death and of his power to heal and to restore life. Today Jesus continues to heal and to restore life through the ministries of the Church, also through us with / by our works and words. For example: we could heal a wounded heart and ease a troubled mind with our small act of kindness or simple word of sympathy. Healing-ministry must be a part of our everyday life. The gospel-story teaches always to have faith in Jesus, never give it up and always come to Him in prayer passionately, forcefully and patiently.

Physically I am far away from you, but spiritually I am close to you in prayer. I will see you at mass on Wednesday, July 1st.

God bless. Fr. Peter Hoan Nguyen.
