My dear parishioners and visitors;
“For God so loved the world that he gave his only begotten Son, so that everyone believes in him may not perish but may have eternal life”(John 3:16).
Everyone knows Jn. 3: 16. It is one of the most widely quoted verses and one of the most well-known verses in the Gospel of St. John. This beautiful verse gives us the reason for the mystery of the Incarnation, the Word made flesh and dwell among us, and one of the requirements to have eternal life. The reason is that God the Father, out of his tremendous and generous love, sent his only Begotten Son into the world. Then those who, out of their generous and faithful love, open their hearts to welcome and receive this greatest gift of love, The Father’s only Begotten Son, with faith will have eternal life.
It is very important to remember that faith is not only “the matter of the mind”, believing in Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior; but also it is, more important, “the matter of the will”, firmly acting on that faith, joyfully proclaim it and faithfully living it out.
This week, please make times and take times to look at our lives and see where we have been for the last three weeks of Lent, to have a good examination of conscience and come to receive the sacrament of confession on March 26th, Thursday, at 7.00p.m.
Have a blessed week. Fr. Peter Hoan Nguyen
