March 28-29 2015

Dear parishioners and visitors;

“Truly this man was the Son of God” (Mk. 15:39).

We learn from the Passion narrative (Mk. 14:1-15:47) that the centurion, after seeing and witnessing Jesus’ crucifixion and death, cried out “truly this man was the Son of God”. The centurion’s personal acknowledgment and profession of faith in Jesus’ divinity may be considered as the 1st fruit of Jesus’ passion and death and also is a sign that Jesus’ gift of salvation is offered to all and everyone is invited to receive His most precious gift of redemption (CCC. 444, 599-603).

We come together this week, called the Holy Week, the most solemn week in our Church’s calendar, to remember and to commemorate what Jesus had done for each of us and for the whole humanity through his passion, death and resurrection.

It is my sincere wish and prayer that all of us will be personally and deeply moved and touched by Jesus’ passion and death as the centurion did and then personally and firmly proclaiming our faith both in word and deeds in Jesus Christ, who is truly our Lord and Saviour and always pouring out generously our love for Him as “a woman came with an alabaster jar of ointment of pure nard, very costly, and she broke the jar and poured it over his head” (Mk. 14:4).

I do want to see all of you, my dear parishioners, your family, your friends and even your neighbours during our Holy Week and Easter’s Celebrations. Also I am always happy to welcome all visitors.

Have a good blessed Holy Week. Fr. Peter Hoan Nguyen.
