My dear parishioners and visitors to St. Ann’s Quesnel,
The snow is coming, so does the winter. Have a good and safe winter. It is more important to remember that we are now in the 1st week of Advent, the beginning our liturgical year, with 4 weeks of preparation for the coming of Christ at Christmas. It is my sincere hope and prayer that all of us will have a good spiritual plan for this Advent as we never have before.
Again I would like to share with you the last part of “my 5 years-plan“. (see last week’s post for the first 3 parts)
4. The contribution to the well-being of the parish: By focusing on giving, sharing “goods” to rebuild the parish, the school and to help those in need.
- Challenges: old buildings: need to be fixed; old parishioners: living on fixed income; and families in crises….
- Action: Stewardship program; Renovation-plan, Social & spiritual outreach program for those in need and for our evangelization-ministries.
- 2018: The Year of the Beatitudes & Commandments: coming together to learn more about the teaching of the Beatitudes & Commandments.
- 2019: The Year of the Bible. 2020: The Year of the Parish & School’s celebration.
These are only “my initial thoughts”. It is so important to have “A 5 Years–Plan–Committee” helping to reflect and to develop a good practical and doable plan for the next five years. - 5 Years-Plan-Committee: 2015-2020.
- The Sub-committees:
- Parish-Memoir-Committee: to write the parish’s history.
- Parish-Pictorial-Committee: to help with the parish-album for 60th Anniversary.
- Parish-Spiritual & Social-Committee: to help to celebrate the 60th Anniversary.
The purpose of the 5 Year-Plan is to inspire “everyone” one again joyfully “Falling in Love” with God through the Catholic Church, through our St. Ann’s parish family and faithfully “Staying in Love” with Him and with his Church, then one day “being eternally” with Him in Heaven.
- The pastoral strategy of the evangelization and of the re-evangelization is to invite people, to inspire them and together to invigorate & to innovate one another in this journey of faith.
- We will work together prayerfully, patiently and personally.
