October 10-11 2015

My dear parishioners and visitors;

I would like to wish all of you, my dear parishioners and visitors, a blessed and happy Thanksgiving. Thanksgiving is a special time for all of us coming together as a nation to celebrate gratefully God’s abundant blessings given to us.

The readings for this 28th Sunday speak to us about Wisdom, the most precious gift of life (Wis. 7:7-11), the Word of God is our source of true wisdom (Heb. 4: 12-13), and the unforgettable encounter between a young man and Jesus (Mk. 10:17-30). That young man asked Jesus “Good Teacher, what must I do to inherit eternal life?” His question reminds us of the meaning, the purpose and the goal of our life on this earth. Eternal salvation is the purpose and the goal of our life on earth. We are here not to seek, to collect and to pile up only earthly things, then selfishly use and misuse it and in the end to die for nothing.

We are so blessed in this great country. May we all learn to live our lives always with the wisdom of God, spoken and given to us by Jesus; to treasure His blessings and to use it wisely and generously for our eternal salvation, for the good of others and for His glory and honour.

As you might know that I will go to Viet Nam to be with my Mother, brothers, sisters, nephews, nieces from Oct. 12th to 31st. Father Martin Peyton and Msgr. Jerry Desmond will be with you. I am deeply grateful to Fr. Martin and Msgr. Jerry for their help.
