October 18 & 19

My dear parishioners and visitors to St. Ann’s Quesnel,

I thank you very much for thinking of me and praying for me when I was on my pilgrimage, the Footsteps of St. Paul from October 1st to 11th. You were in my heart and prayers during these special days of my life. I went as a pilgrim to see and learn how St. Paul, The Great Apostle of Gentiles, proclaim the Good News of Salvation to peoples in different places of the Ancient Greece and Turkey. I will share with you what I learned from this pilgrimage in our weekly bulletin.

I left Quesnel on Tuesday morning September 30th to Kamloops, then flying out from Kamloops at 6.00a.m. on October 1st to Vancouver, to Toronto and finally arrived in Athens on October 2nd at 9.30a.m. It was long fly! After one night in Athens, the Capital of Greece, I got into an Olympia Cruise with at least 1.500 peoples for three days of visiting different small islands in Greece. On October 4th We stopped in Ephesus to visit the House of Mary, where she lived, according to “the Tradition”, her final years with St. John, the Evangelist. It is truly a beautiful and peaceful place of prayer. People coming from different faith-backgrounds and even “without faith” love to see the House of Mary. This prayerful place reminds me of our Catholic tradition to honor Mary in the month of October. As Catholic we always have a great love and devotion to the Blessed Virgin Mary, the Mother of Jesus. We love and honor her in a very special way, because through her we receive “the Author of Salvation, Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior”.

I came back to St. Ann’s, my dear family, with a happy news: that is we have reached our Faith in Action’s goal. You have given $ 35.330. Congratulations and Thank you so much. We also have a permission from our Bishop to fix and to repair the parking-lot. Quesnel Paving and Erik Erickson companies will begin to work on this project on October 20th. We need at least $ 25.000,00 for this project. So please generously give to our Faith In Action.

Have a blessed week.

Fr. Peter Hoan Nguyen, your pastor.
