September 26-27 2015

Dear parishioners,

“The precepts of the Lord are right, and give joy to the hearts. The law of the Lord is perfect, reviving the souls” (Ps. 19).

As we know so well that a life, without basic instructions, guidelines and laws to follow and to live by, and without good human values to hold on to, is meaningless and sad.

The responsorial psalm for this Sunday clearly teaches us that God’s laws and Jesus’ teachings are good and right. It gives joy to our hearts and revives our souls.

St. James in today’s 2nd reading invites to reflect on how to use wisely our gifts, talents and blessings given to us. He teaches us and urges us to use our blessings, not only for our personal good, but also more important for the good of others and for the glory and honour of God.

Generosity is always one of great human values. People everywhere deeply treasure this basic human value: a generous heart and a generous life.

I will go to Kamloops to celebrate the sacrament of marriage for my friend. So there will be no mass & no adoration of the Blessed Sacrament of Friday, Oct. 2nd and no mass on Saturday morning at 9.00a.m. I will see you at mass on Saturday, Oct. 3rd, at 7.00p.m.

Have a blessed week.

Fr. Peter Hoan Nguyen.
