September 27 & 28

My dear parishioners and visitors.

St. Ann’s Quesnel is my new home and my new family! I enjoy being here with you to serve God and to help one another on this journey of faith. I have learned a lot from you for the last 6 weeks.

Last weekend you received the parish survey. Already some of you have given it back to me. I do hope that I will receive all of it soon.

I had a good meeting with the Finance Committee on September 26th at 7.30p.m. in the rectory. The Finance Committee decided to hire Quesnel Paving and Eriksson Earthworks Ltd to rebuild and to fix the portion of the parking lot, beginning around the bell tower and toward the Shrine of St. Ann’s and in the front of the Church. This part of the parking lot is broken up in many places with holes and uneven places. It is so dangerous to walk on it to get into the Church. It is more dangerous in the winter because of the snow and the black ice.

The cost of repairing this portion of our parking lot is around $ 25.000,00. So I would like to ask all of you please generously give to our FIA this year. We will use “Our FIA over goal” to pay for this project.

St. Paul gives us a beautiful and important instruction how to live our lives for one another: “ Let each of us look not to your own interests, but to the interest of others” ( Philippians 2: 4, the 2nd reading for this Sunday).

On October 1st I will take a group of people on the pilgrimage, called the Footstep of St. Paul, to different places where St. Paul was there 2000 to form new Christian communities and to proclaim to the Good News of Salvation. These places belong now both to Greece and Turkey. I will go to Kamloops on Sept. 30th & take the flight out of Kamloops on Oct. 1st at 6.00p.m. and be back with you on October 14th. Wherever I am – you are always in my heart and prayers.

Have a blessed weekend.

Yours in Christ;

Fr. Peter Hoan Nguyen.
